Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Renter's Rights

Currently I have been renting an apartment from a rental corporation for 5 years and recently I have started paying my rent through a rental Payment service which was referred by the leasing office. For the past two months I have been paying my rent appx twenty days before it is due. And the amounts are immediately deducted from my checking account recently I paid My Sept rent on Aug 10th and I have recieved an offer stating that a Dispossessory Warrant has been filed against me for unpaid rent now I have called the office on Sept 4th to advise that I had already paid my rent and the agent stated that all was well now as of the 17th I recvd this warant information threat. Please give me some advice I am tired of being harrassed for untrue information as far as the payments that have been made I do have copies of all payments made.

Re: Renter's Rights

This may sound too simplistic, but can't you just pay the leasing company directly? Getting rid of middle man could possibly avoid all problems. If the leasing company is too quick on the trigger on seeking court intervention, you may want to move to another apartment complex.
