Legal Question in Military Law in Georgia
Divorce-Dividing Army Retirement Pay
My husband retired from the military after 20 years on active duty. We were married for 22 years, 9.5 were while he was in the military. How much (percentage) of his military retirement pay am I entitled to upon our divorce, and what other military benefits can I keep?

Re: Divorce-Dividing Army Retirement Pay
The answer is that it depends. It's either up to you and your husband to come to an amicable settlement, or the judge will do it for you. This is based on the state law where you are located and the controlling law in the divorce.
