Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

A car stopped in front of me suddenly and I hit them in the rear. They took off so I went on my way. Someone chased me down and told me I did a hit and run. Can I be charged with a hit and run if the person I hit takes off? What should I do?

Why didn't you call the police and stay at the scene? You don't just take off. Get a very good lawyer, and also contact your insurer.
