Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia
lawsuit from a review online
i recently posted a fair and balanced opinion of a recent tile installation done at my house on citysearch and kudzu. in the statement i stated that i was disappointed with the job and they did not meet my expectations. i also stated that after installing my tiles they would not replace or reinstall the baseboards that they had to remove to do the job and i had to hire someone else to finish the job. their attorney is trying to sue me for slander for posting this review on a review site. what is the legality of this situation. just to be clear the review only discusses the company and the work done, as well as my disappointment and does not mention the owner or make any false statements or derogatory remarks. thank you very much

Re: lawsuit from a review online
We do not know the legality of the situation based on a few sentences from one party. Many such threats from lawyers will not be pursued, so while many lawyers will take an hourly fee to speculate about a lawsuit, it is likely not necessary. Just keep copies of all documents, printouts, etc. If you do get sued, your best option, by far, is to retain a lawyer who handles these cases as it is a specialized area of law. It is a much better option than hiring a lawyer who has little or no experience in the specific area, but holds themselves out in many unrelated areas.
