Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

Limits on Auto Insurance Policy

Is it possible to find out what kind of auto insurance policy limits another party has? We were hit in GA,and we know the state minimums, but we'd like to know the actual amount the other party has/had. They were 100% at fault. I am assuming the insurance company can pay up to that policy's limit.

If there were injuries, don't even think of dealing with the insurer without a lawyer, as it may harm your case dramatically and lower any possible settlement.

A lawyer will be able to request various materials from the insurer, including the declarations page.

Call me if I can assist you.

You have to make the request pursuant to Georgia Code Section O.C.G.A. 33-3-28. It has to be sent via certified mail or the insurance company does not have to comply with your request. If you want a free evaluation and advice regarding the insurance company, feel free to give me a call at 404.529.9081.

Each insurance company is different, some are much worse than others. Also, be very careful what you tell them over the phone, as they keep copious notes on each conversation.

Sincerely,

David H. Glass, Esq.
