Usually it is two years. However, it is very important to have a lawyer working on the case early, and this many months later means you have already lost some valuable time. Consult a lawyer immediately (like tommorow). My office handles such matters. Feel free to call me.

Generally, the statutute of limitations is 2 years from the date of the injury. There are exceptions and additional limitations periods for certain specific claims against certain specific entities (like governmental agencies)

The statute of limitations is two years for personal injury. However, DO NOT push that envelope. Witnesses, documents, etc. have a way of disappearing, losing their memory, etc. Consult with an attorney ASAP.
