Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I have a 19 year old son, and a 23 year old daughter living in my residence in Georgia. I was told by an officer that they were considered tenants, even though they don't pay rent, and that it is illegal for me to try to gain entry into "their" rooms. Is this correct? If so, where can I find such law in writing?

It alarms me when police break Georgialaw, commit a crime, and give legal advice without a law license. They're often wrong, but in this case, they're probably correct. If they live there in a defined space, you're the landlord and they're a tenant (and to evict them you'd have to give 60 days notice). Having said that, I can't fathom police being involved at all unless you had a violent confrontation, and since you presumably did, get a lawyer before things escalate and your next post is about your arrest.
