Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

real estate fraud?

Even though I bought the house with my inheritance, I put my ex-wife's name on the deed. Several months before we divorced, my ex came to me and said our house was in forclosure - to be auctioned off the next day(which was not true). She said her dad was willing to help out - so we deeded the house to him and he took care of the loan we had against the house. When we did this, he gave me a letter of intention - stating he would hold the house until the three of us came to a decision or until our pending divorce was final. Papers were signed on August 27. On September 29 he sold or deeded my house to her new boyfriend even though the divorce wasn't final until November 4th. Do I have any legal means of fighting this?

Re: real estate fraud?

You might have a case for fraud, but those are very difficult to prove. All the documents need to be reviewed and all the facts explored. Consult with a local attorney.

With what appears to be several horrible choices in the past, get a lawyer to review and see if anything can be salvaged.
