Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Tenant rights

I live in a rental house, I paid 1 yr rent and security deposit in full when I moved in, I still have 5 mos left of lease, I just found out the house is being foreclosed on and put up for sale at the courthouse next month, does this mean I have to move out? What about the money I already paid?

Re: Tenant rights

That depends on what the bank/new owner does. A lease does not run with the property in a foreclosure, i.e. you can be evicted regardless of the lease agreement. The original landlord would owe you the rent paid for the time after you are evicted, but since they fell into foreclosure, I doubt he/she will have any money.
