Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Georgia
sexual harassment in the workplace
I have been sexually harassed at my job. The boss while we were working alone put me in a bear hug and felt my body up and down. I said nothing as I was in shock. A couple of minutes later he made comments about how sexually frustrated he was. A customer came in and then another employee came in. He didnt bring it back up again. I dont know what to do. I will tell my employer today what happend what should I expect.should i contact the eeoc?
I dont think my employer will do anything about it.

Make a complaint to your employer, whether or not you think they will do anything about it (this will protect your rights), and then make a complaint with the EEOC. You can check out the EEOC website for more information on the process. This is exactly the type of sexual harrasment the law is designed to protect against.

Before making a complaint, look at your employee manual. It should be readily available to you. There should be a section on sexual harassment and how to report it. You should follow the procedures in the manual. Also, follow up everything in writing and keep a copy of the writing at home.
If the employer does not resolve the matter or if you are retaliated against for reporting the matter, you may have claim.
You can get more information from the EEOC website (www.EEOC.com). Also, you may want to seek a free or low fee consultation with an attorney.
