If you know how to do it (which by your question I gather the answer is no), you could try. But are you sure you will get it right, be able to deal with all the mandatory steps and forms, and then draft from scratch an assent to a devise and other things that do not have a form?
Why risk that given how inexpensive it is to have a lawyer? A lawyer can help with the paperwork and then let you save fees by doing the legwork. Feel free to call me to discuss this.
In short, if it is a simple matter and you have the time to read the law, you can handle the matter yourself.
In fact, the Georgia Probate Courts have a website with information in nonlegalease.
The website has forms for those who want to handle estates on their own.
