Unfortunately, the workers' comp laws do not prevent you from being terminated (although other laws or union agreements may apply). But if you are terminated because of your injury, your employer or the workers' compensation insurance company is required to continue paying your income and medical benefits even after you are fired. The key will be proving that your termination was on account of your injury. Even if you can't prove that, you can prove an inability to work by doing a diligent job search and keeping a record of it.
