Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

Permanent Partial Disability

I have a 7% permanent disability, was advised by work comp the board of education (my employer) will pay my 2/3 pay for an additional 21 weeks which amounts to around $3,500.00 for this permanent disability. Is this correct?

Re: Permanent Partial Disability

This does not seem to be correct, and it may be that your physician is confusing Permanent Partial Disability Benefits with Temporary Total Disability Benefits. If you have further questions or would like more information regarding this question, please feel free to call me at 404.917.9174.

Re: Permanent Partial Disability

The whole body is worth 300 weeks under the Workers Compensation Act. 7% of 300 weeks is 21 weeks. The Permanent Partial Disability will not start until your regular weekly benefits end. Some employers try to suspend regular weekly benefits before you are able to return to work. If you think this is the case, you should contact a lawyer.
