Legal Question in Family Law in Hawaii

Married in Hawaii, living in CA. Where do I file for divorce

I was married in Hawaii, but we have never had residency there. We have only lived in California. What state would I file for divorce in? Is there a choice? We have no children, but own a home. Are the obligations for a husband more lienient in Hawaii or California? We have a pre-nuptual agreement which was created in California which protects each others assets we brought into the marriage. I assume it would be an uncontested divorce.

If you reside in California than you should file in California. If you own a home you will have to file a full petition for dissolution of marriage. If you are in SoCal, give me a call for a free consultation at 818-998-1584
