Legal Question in Criminal Law in Idaho

probation violations

i stole 3 pks. of cigarettes from a store, being truthfull to not get arrested i said it was my intent to steal, needless to say i was charged with felony burglary and petty theft. i hired an attorney who did nothing for me, i ended up agreeing with a ''rule 11'' and accpeting the petty theft charge. i have no criminal history, and ended up with the stiffest sentence!!!! i did everything court orderd except for keeping in contact with my p.o. my probation ends june 14, 2004, but a warrant for my arrest was issued and i was picked up. now i have to appear in court on a pv charge. should i hire another attorney or just face the judge on my own? what about my ''rule 11'' ?

am i in more trouble because of it

Re: probation violations

You need an attorney.

You say the attorney that you hired did nothing for you- he got a felony burgulary charge dropped when you both actually commited the crime and had already admitted to committing the crime. That's not bad.

You are not in more trouble for taking a plea bargin under Rule 11. You are in more trouble for not keeping in contact with your P.O.

When on probation there is little credit given for doing most of what you are required to do.
