Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Claim Money From the person who owes
Hello Sir/Madam,
My Name is D I have a question if I can file a claim on behalf of my Brother who lives in India.
Amy Brother A and his friend B were in a business together in India. For some reason they broke and they were out of the business. From the Business B owes an amount of
Rs 50,000 to A. A has files a complaint in India again B, but I guess b has bribed the cops with some amount and he is out of the case and is settled in Chicago . A came to know recently about the wearabouts of B that B is living in Chicago and got hold of his number.
My question is can I file claim on B behalf of A . We do not have any information other than his Phone number . We dont know his address and where he works. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Claim Money From the person who owes
Generally, you cannot file suit (or at least your suit will quickly be dismissed) unless you have standing to sue. In other words, you would have to be the one who was damaged in order to be entitled to sue.
