Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Hi, someone filed a "breach of confidiality" against me about me telling people about that person having HIV but I have never told anyone Im sure this person is just looking for some easy money, what can I do about it? Please help I dont talk or care about this person but this legal letter he filed made me very upset and want to know what can I do about it.

You have to be in a confidential relationship before there can be a breach. A confidential relationship could be by contract. But you don't say. Otherwise, if you told X that Y has "HIV" and this is not true and it causes Y harm, that is slander, but if it is the truth then it can't be used as a basis for a lawsuit. So sit with an attorney, explain all the facts, and hopefully the attorney can explain what if anything you may have done improperly, if at all.
