Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
Forced to Volunteer or NO Pay Increase
My companies annual review processes for Exempt employees requires you to be a volunteer or donate money how much you volunteer and/or donate is figured in your pay increase. Stipulations are that church activities/involvement do not count. Is this against the law? I find it very intrusive into what I feel is private, I work hard with many long hours which as exempt I am not paid for and now I am told I must give my time to others as well. I do this on my own and do not think it is my companies business nor for them to base my work and salary on. Please advise. PS. I live in Missouri but work in the state of Illinois.
