Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
I work in an establishment where the owner has a tip jar near the cash register. It is a dine in and carry out pizza. At the end of the day the tip jar is quite full of cash. The owner pockets the cash for himself. Is that legal?

This is totally improper. Management cannot share or "steal" pooled tips. Please see:http://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/whdfs15.htm
