Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Illinois
If I worked for a tow company, as an employee would I have to pay for damages on a car, when the equipment failed, a broken strap. My former boss said I agreed to pay him verbaly witch I did not. I never signed n e thing either. I thought thats why they have insurance.

If your former boss is trying to deduct this amount from your paycheck, it would be an unlawful deduction. ANY deduction from an employee's paycheck, in Illinois, must be authorized in writing by the employee at the time the deduction is made. If, on the other hand, the former boss is merely trying to enforce what he claims is a verbal agreement, it will be your word against his.
