which state laws apply?
If a computer crime was committed in Illinois against a party in another state, which state's law apply, where it originated or the final destination? Offense began in IL towards someone in Ohio.

This is a significant conflicts of law question which cannot be answered without knowing all of the facts of the case. In many instances these issues are subjects of in limine motions before judges, prior to the actual litigation.
