Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Beating debt owed to Nextel
About a year in a half ago, my girlfriend was in Mexico for a college program. She did not know to switch her phone over to the international plan to avoid HUGE charges. Should Nextel have notified her when they saw her bill going significantly past her normal charges? Nextel has already turned her in to the collection agency. Is there a way we can beat paying the $6000 owed for 1 month of phone usage in Mexico?
