Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Right to Cancel Contracts in the State of Illinois
On a purchase of a vehicle in the state of Illinois, is there a 3 day grace period on the contract where either side can cancel the agreement? I know that there is in real estate closings.
prolem is for my sister-in-law - Her husband went out an purchased a car that they cannot afford and now realising the situation that it has put them in they need to back out of the deal. The dealer is telling them that as soon as he drove the car off the lot the deal was final.
Is this true and is there a way out of the deal.

He may have a way out through the financing agreement if there was one. But this needs to be done within the 3 day period. It sounds like he's out of luck otherwise.
