Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Car purchased, title not remitted
I purchased a used car from the owner on ebay and I have the bill of sale and proof of my purchase. The owner had purchased the car and had the proof of sale, but had not put the title in his own name. The title was still in the former owner's name, but the owner had signed it. Since I had flown to Texas to pick up the car, I decided to complete the transaction. I drove back with the original title, but sent it back to the person I bought it from, along with money to cover the cost of transferring the title, so he could get it in his name and send it back to me. This was in June 2006 and he has not sent the title, despite repeated conversations with him during which he and his wife assured us they had the new title and would send it immediately. Can I take legal action? How can I get a title without resorting to a bonded title?

How do you plate this cas?
idea 1. Offer the seller $100.00 to complete the transaction. Don't pay him until yo get the docs.
idea 2. Apply for a lost title in Texas and complete the transaction down there.
idea 3. Sue the seller in Texas.
