Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Dealer Auto Loan Repayment
We recently purchased an automobile in the Chicago area. As part of the trade in of our previous vehicle, the dealership had offered to repay the remaining balance on the current loan. It has been over 30 days and our original lender has not received anything. What action can be taken against the dealership to expedite this process, as this is affecting our credit now?

Re: Dealer Auto Loan Repayment
If you have not contacted the dealer, do so immediately. It is possible this was just an oversight. If you have already contacted them, and they still have not paid off your vehicle, you will need to retain an attorney and/or contact the Attorney General's office or your local state's attorney.
