Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Drink Minimum
Is it legal for clubs & bars to have 2 drink minimums? There are several clubs near my home that require patrons to purchase ''x'' number of drinks per hour.

Re: Drink Minimum
Businesses are not obligated to allow people to loiter on their premises. In other words, if you are not spending money, they can certainly ask you to leave. On the other hand, their dram shop insurer would not be thrilled to hear this I would bet. If you do not care to drink the minimum, perhaps they would be interested in letting you stay if you agreed to give them "x" number of dollars per hour.
