can i loose my house if i can not pay a hospital bill ?

I cannot tell you it is absolutely impossible, but it is very unlikely.

It is unlikely, but technically, you could, if the hospital sues you, wins, puts a judgment lien on your house and then forecloses on that lien. But the chances are low that they would foreclose on you. Especially if you have a mortgage. With that said, hospitals tend to be willing to work out reasonable payment arrangements with patients, including cutting down the total amount owed based on your financial circumstances. It never hurts to try to contact them and work out a payment plan you can handle.
