Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
can i go to jail for not paying rent a center, i kept the merchandise moved with it and still paying on it until i lost my job..had a month left on merchandise.

You cannot go to jail for a debt. If they can somehow convince the State's Attorney that you stole their merchandise, that might be a criminal matter, but I would think that is an unlikely scenario. Perhaps you can call them and make some kind of payment arrangement.
