Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Late Fee
Is there a law on how much one can charge for a late fee on a video rental? I rented a DVD from my local library which they charge $1.00 to checkout for 3 days. The late fee for that same DVD is $2.00 per day. How can the late fee be more than the rental price?

Re: Late Fee
Easy, they pre-warned you and you didn't get it back on time. You keeping that DVD is costing them money. A penalty is in order!
