Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Postmark = Paid ; Bill Payments
Since postmark = paid for federal taxes ,logic would dictate the same is true for all bills paid thru the mail.
Is this wishful thinking or are credit card companies and other billing agencies allowed to use the inefficiency of the post office to charge people bogus late fees?

Re: Postmark = Paid ; Bill Payments
Credit card companies each set their own policies for payment. They must be clearly outlined. For example, most of these policies will appear on the back of your billing statement. I do not necessarily agree with this rigid practice, however they can set their own policies.
