Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
purchasing a car
i went to purchase a car and i've had it for 12days. now the dealership says they didn't find anyone to finance me.
if they don't find anyone what are my rights? Am i guarenteed my downpayment back? what about the money i had to pay for my insurance? do i have to give the car back or does the dealership have to finance me?

The first step is to look at the contract you signed. Read all of the terms very carefully. Within the contract you will usually find your rights as well as those of the dealership.
Re: purchasing a car
Agree with Mr. Hunt - review all the documents you received from the dealership. Generally, dealerships will not be liable and have a right to retrieve the car - also, it is unlikely that they agreed to finance you in the alternative and you cannot force them to do so. However, this will all be contained in your documentation.
