Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois
Repossession
I had a vehicle repossessed on 1/6/08. The bank that owns my automobile accepted a payment from me on 12/28/07 and said to call back on one week for further arrangements. While I am past due, nothing was ever mentioned about my account being in repossession status. I contaced my bank the next day and was told that I had to pay past due, repo fees and storage but no one will explain to me why my auto was repossessed without my knowledge written or verbal to begin with. Is this legal?
