Legal Question in Consumer Law in Illinois

Un-cancellable magazine subscription

I am being charged an unbeleivable amount of money for 2 year subscriptions of 3 magazines. 700 dollars and change. I do not remember agreeing to pay anywhere near that amount, considering I can get 2 years of one of the magazines for under $25. The company providing the subscriptions says that the account is not subject to cancellation because their company pre-paid the subscriptions for me. I do not know the name of the company, nor do I have a way to contact them. Is there any way out of this? Thanks

Re: Un-cancellable magazine subscription

You should have an invoice from the company that is charging you and claims you signed the contract. You should contact the Consumer Fraud Division of the Illinois Attorney General or the State's Attorney in the County where youlive.

Whomever is asking for the money must produce a bill. Demand it and if you get no satisfaction, contact the Consumer Fraud Division and/or the Attorney General's office in your state.
