Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
Car blows up after tune up, do I have to pay for it?
After repairs were performed (engine) my car burst into flames then next morning. I stopped payment on 2 checks written for the repair. They are know stating the checks bounced and are requesting payment.
Do I have to pay for work performed, even though the car was totaled by fire less than 24 hours after they returned to me?

Sounds like it may be good cirucmstantial evidence but not proof sufficient for a sound defense. If you are sued and it went to court, You would have to bring an expert car repairman to show that they did something wrong that lead to the fire.
