Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois
Hello, I have been contacted by a credit union in which my ex-wife and I had taken a loan out for a vehicle, she received the vehicle in the divorce and was entitled to all debts concerning the vehicle, however she neglected to have my name removed from the vehicle and it was repossessed. What, if any, rights do I have to dispute this matter legally and have it removed from my credit history?

You will have to sue your wife to recover any money you have to pay to the credit union.
Your agreement with your wife had no legal effect on your agreement with the c.u. Your ex spouse's failure to live up to the terms of the agreement she made with you, may entitle you to pursue her in divorce court for the money and legal fees you may incur. But you should determine if she has any assets on income from which you can be paid. If she is not working, has no money and no property, you are rowing upstream without a paddle.
