Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I received a summons for past medical debt that says I have a court date in 7 days. My question is how can I resolve this without having a judgement against me? And also, my husbands name is also on the summons, can I legally get it removed so he won't have a judgement against him?
