Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
My boyfriend was recently convicted of unlawful restraint and is currently serving his sentence. I was wondering if he is now considered a kidnapper and will be placed on the FBI kidnapper list. I was also wondering what retractions this is going to cause for his employment when he gets released.

Thank you for your question. Most likely, no, he would not be placed on the FBI list as he doesnt appear to have been convicted of actual kidnapping. As to whether this conviction would result in difficulty with him obtaining employment would depend on the nature of his sentence - in almost all cases job applicants must disclose felonies.
