Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
I am currently behind on my car payment because i had a death in the family and needed to get there. I left the vehicle there for my brother to use for transportation. The repo man came and I informed him that. He said that if I dont get the car back within 10 days I will be arrested. Is this true

It sounds like the repo man is using the criminal case as a threat. While it is true that you could be charged with theft of the vehicle, its a stretch and any reasonable prosecutor would see this case as more of a civil issue than a criminal one.
Short answer...you can be charged with theft but it would be tough for them to convict you in court of the theft.
good luck
