Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
Child Molestation
I've been writing my memoir for a few months now. When I was 7 I was both molested and molested other kids, whose names I can't recall, because I didn't realize I did anything seriously wrong until about two to three years later. So no real names will be used in the book. However, I'm wondering if I can be sued or proseculted for doing what I did. All the molestation happened over the summer of 1968. I am nearly 44 now.

Re: Child Molestation
You'd be well advised to conceal their true identities. In terms of being sued, probably no serious risk for what happened years ago, but quite high risk of slander and invasion of privacy suits if you disclose names now.
