Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

A county has issued a city ordinance warrant for not showing up in court. I forgot that I had gotten a drinking ticket 3 months ago, and am scared out of mind. What do I need to properly turn myself in, and what are the consequences I face. Do I need a lawyer?

You definitely need an attorney.

Yes, you should hire an attorney to represent you. The attorney may be able to get the warrant recalled or cancelled so that you will not need to be arrested. Then, the attorney can defend you on the municipal ordinance violation. If you are within any of the jurisdictions where I regularly practice, I might be able to offer my services to you for a reasonable fee. I hvae handled many similar cases in the thirty-three years I hvae been practicing law. Please feel free to contact me for a free telephone consultation.
