Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Illegal Transportation of Alcohol

I just recieved an Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and I was the passenger in the car. I was wondering if it would be in my best interest to request court super vision or just plainly pay the ticket. Keep in mind I currently work in law enforcement in plan on applying to different agencies. Will court supervision really help or affect me in this situation or will just simply paying the ticket be fine? Because on an application I will have to list it anyway even if I sucsessfully completed court supervision, rigth? Thank you..

Re: Illegal Transportation of Alcohol

Illegal transportation is a points-assigned offense, so you are best off seeking supervision for this reason alone. If you receive three convictions in a 12-month period, you will lose your license. Supervision is not a conviction.

If you were not illegally transporting alcohol, why don't you hire an attorney to defend the charge? A dismissal or an acquital would be better than pleading guilty in order to receive supervision, wouldn't it?
