Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois
The police came to my house and said they had a warrant for my uncles friend Robert who happens to have the same last name as me and they came inside handcuffed me and said I was aiding and abating a criminal. They then searched the whole house even though I said my uncle and his friend only stay downstairs and I don't let them upstairs. After about 2 or 3 hours of moving stuff around and looking they found 4 marijuana plants and then they told me to sign this paper that says they couldn't find Robert as I was signing it they then found Robert hiding in a container that looks like a vase. They said I was going to be charged with a misdemeanor but overnight they changed it to a Felony. Is there any way I can get the charges dropped for illegal search and seizure.
