If the amount is over $300 you will be charged with a felony. You may receive an I-bond (which means you will be released on your signature). If you are held in custody, you will have a bond hearing where a judge will set your bond. Since you have no background, your bond will likely be low. Contact an attorney so that you will have someone at your bond hearing who can secure a low bond for you.
good luck
