Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

driving privilages

i would like to get some financial help getting my drivers license back.ive been put on s.s.d because of a liver transplant and im getting ready for a hip replacement.all medical.if i get caught driving to my doctors i can get 1 yr. in jail.if i dont go to doctors i could die.everytime i have to go to chicago for follow up on my liver transplant i have to pay bout 100 in gas then pay someone a days wage.i dont make that kind of money on s,s,d so yes-i drive myself.ive never had an accident or hurt anyone. i havent drank in over 3 yrs via liver transplant.who can i turn to for financial aid to get the license.then i would like to talk with an attorney about the arresting officer.im sure that any attorney will find this story very very interesting.

People are entitled to court appointed attorneys when they are accused of a crime and subject to a possible jail sentence of greater than six months. The problem with a driver's license situation is that it is considered a civil, not a criminal matter and as a result there are no provisions for legal assistance in resolving license suspensions or revocations.
