Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

Charged w/ revoked license and DUI

My daughter was driving with her boyfriend home when she was pulled over. Her boyfriend was driving the vehicle but when they ran both of the names my daughter showed a warrant was issued for her arrest for missing traffic court. Now when the officer took her in on Sunday they charged her with DUI but she WAS NOT drinking nor was she driving the vehicle! She is sitting on the cook county jail awaiting for court on April 1st at Rolling Meadows.(where the warrant was issued).... We need counseling ASAP...... she is 20 yrs old.

She has to deal with fact that she missed court originally. Regarding the new DUI she needs an attorney to gather the information and prove her innocence. For more information regarding the DUI process in Illinois, please visit:

First, get a good, experienced DUI lawyer. If your daughter was not driving the vehicle, then she will be ok. She will have to face the traffic charges for which she missed court.

It sounds like the arresting officer was overzealous. Did he have any basis for charging your daughter with operating the car? Was she in actual physical control of the vehicle?
