Legal Question in DUI Law in Illinois

suspended license from dui charge

I have a suspended license because of a DUI charge. Court wants me to pay $1,882 for fines, and 30 hours of classes. My husband has no license, and no job. I have been laid off from my job now. I have 3 kids as well. I need to be able to drive to interviews to find a job. Is there anyway to get a heart ship license because of my current situation?

Re: suspended license from dui charge

You fail to indicate if your license is suspended for either failing to taking a chemical test or taking the test and not passing. If that is the case there is the possibility of either a Judicial Driving Permit or a Monitoring Device Driving Permit depending upon when you were arrested. If your license is revoked because of a DUI conviction, then you have to have a formal hearing with the Secretary of State. That raises separate issues. Finally, I have written a book about Illinois driver's licenses which includes information about the formal hearing process. It is available at:

Hope this all helps
