Re: Hearing
From your question, it appears that you might be thinking of representing yourself on a worker's compensation claim. In some relatively rare cases, that would be all right. However, beofre you do so, you should consult with an attorney who handles these cases on a regular basis. The consultation should cost you nothing. If the attorney makes a professional determination that you would receive more compensation even after the deduction of attorney's fees from any settlement or other recovery in your case, then it would make sense to hire the attorney to represent you. An honest attorney will tell you if your injury is not severe enough to warrant enough compensation to make hiring the attorney the most practical thing to do. If you do hire an attorney, the attorney will take your case on a contingency fee basis, and so again you would not have to pay the attorney out of your own pocket. If you do not know such an attorney, please feel free to call me at the office and I will refer you to one of the very best!
