Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois

I recently signed a contract with a private school because I felt that it was my only option. I was home schooled this year and I went to the public school in my area the year before. I didn't like either of these so we (my parents and I) signed the contract with the private school even though I don't totally want to go there. But over the summer I was invited to a prestigious ballet academy in Moscow (I'm a dancer) and it would be a life changing experience to be able to train there. The only problem is that the private school is refusing to let us out of the contract. I am desperate to go to this school in Moscow but my family can't afford to walk away from the money we put into the private school. What can I do to get out of the contract with the private school?

To see if there is any way out of your contract with the private school, you will need to review your contract thoroughly. You may need to hire an attorney to do this. The attorney can then advise you whether there is a way out, and what it entails.
