Legal Question in Education Law in Illinois
My student loans have been bought and sold so many times, it was hard keeping up with whom I owed. While I was notified by one company that my loans were now being handled by this particular company, I contacted them and made arrangements to satisfy this loan and make payments once again. After making payment arrangements and payments, the previous carrier of the loan seized my income tax refund.
Is there anything that I can do?

Yes, there is potentially something you can do here. Have they already sued you for the amounts? If you weren't provided adequate notice of the loans being transferred, you may have a defense.
