Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

What does a 17 year boy have to do to have the rights to see his new born child? Various attempts have been made for this boy to see his child but the biological mother does not let him because of her personal issues she has had in her relationship. The bioligical father drops off clothes and baby neccessities on a regular basis at the maternal grandmothers house and hoping to see his baby, but the biological mother does not let him see the baby. Because the biological dad is only 17, what steps does he have to take legally to see his child?

The biological father has an absolute right to see his child. He needs to petition the court for recognition of paternity and establish a visitation schedule through the court.

As a minor he can do nothing. Did he sign a VAP. If he did he is the father. If he did not, he needs to, through a parent or guardian, file an law suit to be declared the father and for visitation.
